  • Dr. Albert may be able to discuss some aspects of your case at your first visit.  If additional time is needed, you will be schedule for a separate, no charge consultation appointment on another day.

Will it hurt?

We will be as gentile as possible, treating you as we would want to be treated.  A comprehensive periodontal examination can be completed with little to no discomfort.  But if you are having a problem, please let Dr. Albert or one of our staff know.  We will make an effort to correct your concern.

What is the cost of the initial appointment?

Our initial examination appointment is set at $139.00.  This includes any clinical tools we will need to diagnose your case.  There is no additional charge for additional radiographs or consultations.  If any additional charges do arise, you will be informed of those charges in advance.

What is the cost of periodontal care or dental implant placement?

Since all patients have different needs, Dr. Albert must complete a thorough oral examination before establishing an appropriate treatment plan and the fee for your specific care.  The fees for periodontal treatment can vary considerably depending on the type of problems, the complexity of care and the length of time it will take to correct your problems.  An approximate fee can usually be determined at the initial visit.  However, some complex cases do require further evaluation with future consultations.  Your specific periodontal care and associated fees will be discussed at that consultation appointment.  We always strive to obtain an optimum treatment outcome with the most conservative methods available.

Will my insurance cover the cost?

Dental insurance is offered by employers to their employees to assist in attaining good oral health.  Please bring all of your insurance information to your initial appointment.  Our office will submit a pre-determination to your insurance company, on your behalf.  By doing so, you will find out the benefits and limitations of your specific dental insurance plan.

Will I need surgery?

Not everyone needs periodontal surgery.  Periodontal diseases are bacterial infections that go far beyond the soft gum tissues.  The true threat of these infections is the destruction of a patient’s jawbone.  It is your jawbone that gives support to your teeth.  If treated early, these infections can often be easily controlled without the use of surgery.  When the infections enter deep within the jawbones, periodontal surgery can be used to access the infection, regenerate lost jawbone or repair deformed soft gum tissues.  Dr. Albert will discuss with you the severity of your case and determine treatment options that meet everyone’s objectives.

If I have jawbone loss, can I still save my teeth?

Recent advances in periodontal treatment allow us to successfully treat most teeth.  However if tooth loss is inevitable, dental implants are often used to restore more than teeth.  Dental implants can restore comfort, function and beautiful smiles.

Do I need to see my General Dentist?

Our office and your Dentist will work closely together to assure an optimum result for you.  If crowns, fillings or immediate tooth replacement is needed our offices will develop a treatment plan that services both your immediate needs and your long-term goals.  Regular visits to your General Dentist are an important part of assuring long term, good oral health.

What if I decide not have periodontal care?

Periodontal disease is often a painless, progressive, disfiguring infection.  Any delay can cause further bone loss and additional expense.  Early treatment is always less invasion, more conservative and less expensive.  Most health professionals agree that a healthy mouth is an important part in achieving and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Although Dentists and Periodontists are chiefly involved in the treatment of oral tissues, periodontal disease is implicated with other health issues.  Heart disease, stroke, pulmonary diseases like pneumonia, low birth weight babies, premature babies and accelerated diabetes all have been linked to oral periodontal infections.  To read more about this, please review the Systemic Implications of Periodontal Disease attached to this web site.
